Mick Lawrence
Runes-

The Roman historian Tacitus talks in his journals about Britons using rune stones to divine the future. The stones were cast from a bag, onto the ground, and subsequently read by the interpreter.
Mick believes that the use of runes should follow something of the same pattern. If you have a rune reading with him, you are invited to either pick your own rune stones from their bag (if it is a face to face reading) or to select a variety of rune stones from positions on a table before him. The rune stones are then taken in hand, shaken, and thrown (or cast) onto a cloth on the table. Any runes which are face down are carefully turned upright, keeping their orientation to the person casting them. Runes that fall ‘upside down’ have a different meaning in a reading, than those which fall ‘right way up’. The relationship of the runes to each other, and to the centre of the circle onto which they are cast, provides important clues as to the message which is being sent by the runes.
Rune spreads
Runes may also be placed in position using spreads, similar to that used in Tarot. This can be useful at times, but Mick’s general preference is to cast them as indicated above
